Basabue di Tolè (Vergato)

Basabue di Tolè (Vergato)

This important compound is made of two buildings belonging to different ages. The oldest one now is used as a farm warehouse and has a typical kind of masonry, ancient doors and sandstone windows. On the other side of the street there is the main house with a very nice entrance door. It replaced the previously existing building.

Tolè Tower (Vergato)

Tolè Tower (Vergato)

The place name shows the origin of this compound, which has been built and enlarged many times around a big defensive tower, whose perimetral walls have been kept. Its dimensions are quite large and so it’s almost impossible not to notice it. It was abandoned some decades ago and so is now in bad condition. Reconstruction works should be done in order to give it its ancient splendour again. There are some quite valuable windows and doors. It is really worth visiting the secular chestnut at the feet of the palace and then tasting the famous water of these places.
