House Civetta of Rocca di Roffeno (Castel d’Aiano)

This nice structure was built on a sandstone hill in a dominating position. It was probably part of Roffeni family’s defensive system. On the sandstone entrance door the date 1325 is written, which shows how ancient this building is. Not very far from Casa Civetta there is a modern building that has ruined the atmosphere of this place. It is in very good condition and is used as a hotel. As a consequence, it can be visited.

House Poggiolo of Rocca di Roffeno (Castel d’Aiano)

It was built in a dominating position, not far from the oldest fortifications of Monzone and Civetta. It was probably part of Vergatello valley’s defensive system. This strong structure is made of a tower and a nice residential palace with valuable entrance doors. After having been abandoned for decades, renovation works have recently been done.

It was built during the Sixteenth century in a strategic position: at the feet of Roffeno fortress and above Roffeni family’s fortifications. Together with these other buildings, it represented a real defensive line in the Vergatello valley. This compound is made of a big tower and a little building with a nice sandstone entrance door

House Landi di Casigno (Castel d’Aiano)

This elegant compound is placed in a dominating position in the Vergatello Valley. It has a wonderful Sixteenth century dovecote tower. There are two entrance doors belonging to different ages in whose lintels are two sculpted noble coats of arms.

Monzone House of Rocca di Roffeno (Castel D'Aiano)

This important building was part of the powerful Roffeni family defensive system. This compound, which was once surrounded by walls, is made of a Thirteenth century tower and a more modern construction. There is a really valuable Fifteenth century residential building: it has wonderful doors and ashlar windows. Nowadays it is used as a hotel and can be visited
